Happy New Year!

We woke up surprisingly early this morning (9:00ish) and decided to get something to eat. At first we thought we might not be able to get any food because everywhere was still closed. New Years is one of the biggest holidays of the year here and almost everything was closed. Still, we eventually found a nice place to eat.

After breakfast we returned to our room feeling tired. We decided to honor the New Years tradition of doing nothing on the 1st. Not able to watch a parade or football we put on a movie. After finishing the last of our Entourage episodes we headed out to use the internet for a while (13:30).

We had to search for quite a while before finding an internet café that was open. We then used the internet and made a few calls home to say happy New Year (at 16:00, just as the calendar was turning over in the USA).

At 13:30 we left the internet café and headed back to the guesthouse. I then hung out in the common area and played some video game soccer. After beating a tourist one of the local kids challenged me. Although he put up a good fight, I showed him that Americans are still the best at video games…

When I returned to the room we decided to watch Accepted (which B recently purchased). After the movie we returned to the nearby restaurant (where we had breakfast) and had a large dinner.

We got back our room at 7:00 and then put on yet another movie. In honor of Peter Baston we watched Clerks II (He talked about the movie throughout Europe). Tired of watching movies we spent the remainder of the evening lounging in the room, reading, and trying to fall asleep.
